Description
The uncut 110cm² gas diffusion electrode of PEM components is a great benchmark electrode. Not only saving money, but also allowing the user to cut various shapes from one single electrode allowing cross platform referencing.
The electrode surface is coated with a Pt/C (50%wtPt) catalyst onto SGL Sigracet 28BC gas diffusion layer (GDL). Its dimensions are 105mm by 105mm of coated area and 120mm by 120mm of total GDL area. This GDE is mainly used as an electrode for cross platform referencing or as a more commercial option for evaluation. Same as for our precut electrodes the same variety of loadings are offered, lower loadings are often used for anodes of fuel cells, cathodes for electrolyzers, compression or cathode for purifyers. Higher loadings are used for cathodes of fuel cells or anodes for purification.
Apart from these standard electrodes, PEM components also offers tailored solutions. It has all production equipment in house as well as the required expertise therefore, it is possible to specify your desired loading, to incooperate your own catalyst material or even to switch out GDL to your preferred GDL. How to use
Please use powder free nitril gloves when handling electrodes to prevent potential contamination. Avoid contact with volatile materials or enriched oxygen atmosfears without proper safety precautions.rnrnThere are 2 sides on the GDE, namely:rnu003culu003ern tu003cliu003eThe grey-ish fibre sideu003c/liu003ern tu003cliu003eThe black smooth sideu003c/liu003ernu003c/ulu003ernThe black smooth side should face the membrane as it is the catalyst coated side.rnrnThe electrodes are 235 micrometer thick and can be compressed to enhance contact. PEM components provides these spacers in the form of border material.
