PEM components offer training for inexperienced or novice users on, for instance, how to prepare an MEA, how to test them, how to interpretate the data, what to do if and all other practical challenges that may lay ahead. It has been proven to be very useful especially for PhD candidates as they often struggle with getting started or generating reliable or reproducible data. A typical training on MEA preparation training takes a full day and comes with a syllabus and after training support. We would start in the lab with the theory and safety instruction to quickly turn hands on, where the trainee would be in the lead. This way any novice researcher will have a head start and frees up time for generating more reliable data for publication.

Knowing what is trending and how to, for instance, upscale or what equipment is required to set up a laboratory for testing including costs, capacity, operational expenses, operator type is valuable information to attract or justify investment.
